How much is the time commitment?
- All of our firefighters have careers and lives separate from the fire service. We also have many student volunteers. It does take a lot of time and effort to be a member of this department, but it is manageable.
How many calls do we respond to?
- East Oktibbeha Fire responds to approximately 430 calls per year consisting of fires, motor vehicle accidents, EMS calls, hazmat, and technical rescues.
How do I join?
- After attending three monthly meetings, paperwork will be issued to you. Click here for more information.
When/where are meetings held?
- Training meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. every first and second Tuesday of the month at Belaire station, located at 15052 MS-182, Starkville MS.
What will I do as a Firefighter with East?
- After turning in your paperwork, you will be able respond to all emergencies with the department and assist with daily duties that are required around our three fire stations.
