Why We Volunteer

Sgt. Tristan Jones, 508

"My dad told me once 'You never truly live a day in your life unless do something for someone who can never repay you.' We do that every day. I'm here to make a difference in someone's life, regardless of the cost to myself. We help people in their worst moments, and I can't imagine doing anything else."

Sgt. Clay Evans, 510

"Being a volunteer firefighter is about doing something bigger than yourself. I was taught at a young age that the best way to make an impact on someone was to do the thing they wouldn't expect and to give your time to those who never ask. I serve my community in many ways, but nothing is as rewarding as the time I serve as a volunteer firefighter."
